Superstorm Sandy Mission Trip - June 17th-22nd

Posted on 05/23/2013

We have heard from Lutheran Church Charities in New York and are thrilled to announce our first trip to help with Superstorm Sandy Relief will be the week of June 17th.  We are joining AmeriCorps and are part of a team "mucking out" approximately 500 homes in the NYC suburbs.  Muciking out is the first step in rebuilding.  All wet and damaged insulation, sheetrock, houshold belongings, carpet, etc. must be removed from the house before the rebuilding can begin.  If you would like to be part of this mission trip, please sign-up in the Gatheirng Space or contact the church office at office@loloh.org or 440-543-5505.

Families Anonymous

Posted on 10/03/2012

Families Anonymous Meetings are held at Lord of Life on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.  Families Anonymous is a super group of people just like you helping “anyone whose life has been adversely affected by another person’s use of drugs, alcohol, or related behavioral problems.” No one will be shocked at what you are facing; they simply hope to help you face your situation as others have helped them. Anonymous means no last names, no forms to complete, no formal sign-up.

Helping Local Food Banks

Posted on 04/11/2013

By supporting two local food banks, we take seriously Jesus’ call to “feed the hungry.” Collection boxes for donated items are located near the Welcome Center in the Gathering Space. Please remember to check expiration dates; community food banks cannot accept outdated food.

Food for Friends: Our local Bainbridge food cupboard is currently low on saltine crackers, tomato soup, and oatmeal packets.  They can also use canned pears, peaches and pineapple, cranberry sauce,  jelly and jam, Tuna Helper, Chicker Helper, white rice, mayonnaise, and facial tissue.

Burton Food Bank: Current need for paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues, and any type of canned fruit.

Both food banks are always appreciative of any donations.
