Senior Pastor
Rev. Robert R. Henderson

Pastor Henderson has been ordained for nearly ten years and currently serves at Lord of Life Lutheran Church which is his second call. He is married to Kim, and they have two daughters, Marissa, age 7 and Corinne, age 4, and a son, Aiden, age 18 months.

Pastor Henderson considers himself a leader among leaders. His gifts include evangelism, preaching, teaching and the ministry of hospitality. The congregation finds Pastor Henderson a capable counselor, and many within and beyond the walls of Lord of Life look to him as a resource.

Pastor Henderson has led teams throughout his professional life. He believes in the power of the team and is currently working with his leadership team to implement a new and exciting long range plan which includes a new staffing plan. This plan is designed to help the congregation more effectively live out their mission to Go, Sow and Grow.

Pastor Henderson has led Lord of Life through a period of transition. The identity of the congregation has undergone a significant change as they have responded to the changing community in which they reside. Once a rural farming community, Bainbridge Township is now a bedroom community to Cleveland. This time of transition has caused both considerable growth and occasional conflict as new members have arrived and become disciples at Lord of Life.

2003 was a year of refinement for the congregation. 2004 was a year of growth in faith, membership and spirituality. God's presence and actions are obvious in so many ways. God is active in the new member process, developing small group ministries and education programming. Congregational dynamics also provide unique challenges to both Pastor Henderson and congregational leadership. Many of our young families are so stretched with the demands of school and sports that they have precious little time to hone their discipleship skills as part of the community. This has caused Pastor Henderson and many of our interns to be extremely creative in encouraging people to become involved in ministry.

He is excited about the prospects of ministry at Lord of Life and is delighted in the success of the internship program and the interns within the congregation. He notes, "This congregation embraces interns and takes great ownership of them, following them not only during their time at Lord of Life, but into their future ministry endeavors."

Pastor Rob and Kim enjoy travel a great deal, and in his spare time he likes playing with his children, swimming, jogging, working in the yard and laughing with his family and friends.
